What is polycarbonate drinkware?
Polycarbonate (PC) looks as clear as glass but stands up to knocks far better. Atlas Plastik glasses are made from food-contact-grade PC in line with the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry regulation on food-contact materials, registration no. TR-34-K-252889. They leave no smell or taste in drinks, handle temperatures from -40 °C to +90 °C and can go in the microwave.
The range covers plain and faceted tumblers, frosted-finish models, glasses with handles, stemmed wine glasses, champagne flutes, cocktail, margarita, martini and whisky glasses, plus an ice bucket. Each model's product code is listed on its own page.
Where does it work best?
Anywhere broken glass is simply not acceptable, polycarbonate is the safer choice. At pool and beach bars, where guests walk barefoot, it removes the risk of glass shards altogether. In busy hotels and restaurants a dropped glass stays in one piece, so you lose fewer items and service keeps moving. In school and nursery canteens, hospital cafeterias and contract catering it makes service safer for children and patients. And in cafés and bars, the clear body presents drinks just as well as real glass.
When choosing a model, think about the drink and the setting. Plain or faceted tumblers suit everyday water and soft drinks, frosted models work well for iced drinks by the pool, and stemmed glasses and flutes handle wine and champagne. Care and cleaning
All glasses are safe in industrial dishwashers. For hand washing, a soft sponge and ordinary washing-up liquid are all you need. To keep the surface free of scratches and the glasses clear for longer, avoid harsh cleaning chemicals, abrasive scourers and contact with knives or other sharp tools. Never heat them on a grill or over an open flame. They stack neatly, saving space on shelves and in storage, and can be recycled at the end of their life.
