Material and models
Hospital Series lids are made from food-contact-grade polycarbonate (PC) in line with the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry regulation on food-contact materials, registration no. TR-34-K-252889. They do not break, leave no smell or taste in food, handle temperatures from -40 °C to +90 °C and are microwave safe.
The series includes round lids (PC 17, PC 19, PC 21, PC 23), square lids (PC 14, PC 17, PC 22), the PC 12 flat lid and PC 12 lid, plus a 40 cm self-service lid that covers self-service trays. Each lid's code and appearance are shown on its product page.
Where they are used
In a hospital, meals travel from the kitchen by trolley to the wards and then to patients' rooms. A lid keeps the food covered along the way, protects it from the outside and helps plates stack during service. Because the lid is clear, staff can check that the right meal is going to the right patient without opening it. The same applies in care homes, contract catering deliveries and school canteens. And being unbreakable, the lids remove the risk that comes with glass or porcelain covers.
The size and shape of the plate or tray decide which lid you need: round lids for round plates, square lids for square bowls and plates, and flat lids for portions that will be stacked. If you are unsure, list the plates and trays you use in your quote request.
Care and cleaning
The lids are safe in industrial dishwashers. For hand washing, use a soft sponge and washing-up liquid, and avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive scourers that could scratch the surface. Keep them away from knives and other sharp tools, and never heat them on a grill or open flame. They stack to save space in storage and can be recycled at the end of their life.
